Wren Kitchens’ plan to open its 100th UK showroom in the UK in 2020 is back on track, as its expansion programme resumes.
The leading kitchen retailer will open a further four showrooms throughout July and August in Worcester, Wakefield, Wolverhampton and Peterborough – with eight more to follow before the end of the year.
The Humber’s leading employer, headquartered at Barton, opened a 92nd showroom in Banbury, Oxfordshire, last month.
It was appointments only until yesterday, Tuesday, June 2, with the firm having challenged vague regulations on store definitions with trading standards, prior to full public opening this week.
The identity of the 100th store is yet to be decided, but it will be one of the eight scheduled to open in Mansfield, Altrincham, Oldham, Greenwich, Northampton, Kings Lynn, Durham and Carlisle.
It comes as it enters the US market too, with a huge plan to replicate a decade’s success in the UK with virtually integrated manufacturing and retail. Plans there remain on track.
A spokesperson for the firm said: “We are delighted to be recommencing our showroom roll out programme. It’s great to have good news to announce at this time and be able to say to our customers in these towns and cities that a Wren showroom is on its way!
“We are now considering further premium locations for showroom openings in 2021.”
A Wren Kitchens showroom is on average 15,000 sq ft, featuring displays of more than 50 full size kitchens with thousands of door samples and finishes, worktops and handles, sinks, taps and appliances.
As well as design centres where customers work with a designer to bring their dream kitchen to life, all new showrooms feature unique virtual reality studios so customers can experience their new kitchen in stunning 3D.
It entered 2020 having just launched in its home borough, with an outlet in Scunthorpe, though Hull remains the closest to Wren’s The Nest base on the South Humber Bank.
The business creates on average 20 new jobs in retail, design and surveying with every new showroom opening.
