Building work on a huge new Dunelm store has officially started.
The retail unit is currently under construction at Wolstanton Retail Park, in Newcastle-under-Lyme ahead of its expecting opening later this year.
The 22,000 sq ft building – which will created 50 new jobs – is being built between the existing M&S and Matalan stores.
It will join other big-name brands on the park including B&M, Asda and Starbucks.
Midlands-based firm Deeley Construction is carrying out the building work.
Managing director Martin Gallagher said: “Our team is now set up and working on the site to deliver this retail project, which is part of the continued development of Wolstanton Retail Park.
“The retail park is still busy, despite the Covid-19 pandemic, and our team will be operating social distancing measures, while providing as little disruption as possible to the general public.
“Deeley Construction has great experience with working in live retail environments and delivering purpose-built units.
“The new Dunelm store will provide a boost to the local economy and provide new jobs for people in the area and we’re delighted to be working on this project.”
