TWO SOUTH African farmers have been found guilty of murder after killing a 16 year-old black boy in 2017.
According to BBC Africa, Judge Ronald Hendricks said he believed Pieter Doorewaard, 27, and Phillip Schutte, 34, threw Matlhomola Moshoeu from the back of a moving truck after they caught him allegedly stealing sunflowers.
However, the only eyewitness of the incident had testified that Mosweu did not jump but was pushed from the moving van.
The death of Mosweu’s ignited a mass protest in Coligny that left six houses and three trucks torched and several shops were looted and damaged.
A spokesman from the opposition Economic Freedom Fighter (EFF) said: “We feel vindicated. The judgement reinforces confidence in South Africa’s justice system. The two white racists will rot in jail,” its spokesman told local media
The Doorewaard and Schutte will be sentenced on Thursday (Oct 18).
