Two women have turned a renovated barn in Sedgley into a doggy day care business – and, thanks to the support of their clients, have been nominated for an award.
Dogology is a small day care and training centre situated on Wood Farm House Livery in the West Midlands.
It has been described as a “home from home” for dogs and the two owners, Kelly and Stacey, have been applauded for going “above and beyond” and treating the pups “like their own”.

A TeamDogs user said: “Dogology is a proper home from home for dogs while owners are at work. The staff go above and beyond and treat them like their own!”
Another described the day care as a “lovely, family run business” and said, “each dog gets full attention” from Kelly and Stacey.
Behaviourist and vet nurse, Kelly Noad, 40, spoke to TeamDogs about Dogology.
“People drop off their dogs and puppies to us every day for socialisation. We play games, burn off some energy and entertain them,” she said.
“We have roughly ten dogs in our care every day. We welcome all sized dogs and all ages.”
From little chihuahuas and fluffy cockapoos to cuddly springer spaniels and big huskies, all the dogs learn to play together.
Dogology was set up in 2019 when Kelly realised the area was missing a doggy day care.
She said: “Working in a vets, I saw so many dogs come in and be put to sleep because they hadn’t been socialised.
“Dogology wasn’t just about looking after your dog while you go to work, it was about saving dogs’ lives.”
With 32-year-old Stacey Chants’ background in animals and horses, the two friends work brilliantly together in the renovated barn.
“We teach dogs how to understand and read each other so large dogs can play with small dogs,” Kelly said.
“It tends to be the same dogs every day and they make best friends.”
Kelly explained that running a small business during a pandemic had been incredibly difficult.
“At one point, we thought we may have to completely shut down,” she said.
“Thankfully, with a lot of support from the community and local vets, we’ve built a strong business.”
Kelly would love to expand Dogology one day.
According to Kelly, her customers most love that “their dogs go home and sleep all night and the next day”.
“My favourite part about my job is all the doggy cuddles when they’re tired. There’s nothing better,” she said.
