The webinar will be hosted by the Ladder for Greater Birmingham initiative in partnership with the GBSLEP Skills Hub and will aim to equip employers with the knowledge and confidence needed to hire apprentices.

The Ladder was launched in 2018 in partnership with Greater Birmingham and Solihull Local Enterprise Partnership and BusinessLive publisher Reach Midlands along with a number of other partners to connect employers with job seekers across the region to create hundreds of new apprenticeships.

Among the topics scheduled for discussion at the webinar are myth busting, a day in the life of an apprentice and a discussion with an employer as well as Q&A session for attendees.

The theme of the event is ‘Build the future’ and organisers say they want to help employers learn how to future proof their workforce via an apprenticeship scheme, retain loyal staff and achieve success through hiring apprentices.

It will also showcase the broad variety of career options available.

Recordings by skills and apprenticeships minister Gillian Keegan and Robert Halfon, chairman of the Education Select Committee and patron of the Ladder, will be shown during the event.

It is free to attend and starts at 10am on Tuesday February 9. For more information and to sign up, please visit the GBSLEP website and to learn more about the Ladder for Greater Birmingham initiative, visit www.ladderforbirmingham.co.uk or call 03332 409 699
