Wealth management and professional services group Tilney Smith & Williamson has strengthened its investment management team in Birmingham.
Gavin Hill has joined the firm to focus on business development for the Midlands while Aidan France and Sophie Pounds become assistant investment managers.
Mr Hill has more than 20 years of experience in financial services and joins the practice from Quilter Cheviot where he was business development manager in its Birmingham office.
Mr France has been hired from Five Wealth in Manchester where he worked as a financial planning manager while Ms Pounds joins after completing an accounting and finance degree in Liverpool.
The trio of hires follows the recent announcement that Tilney Smith & Williamson has agreed terms for a new office at 103 Colmore Row, the new 26-storey office block nearing completion in the city centre.
Adam Parker, managing director of the firm’s Birmingham financial services team, said: “We have ambitious plans for expansion in the Midlands in the coming years and are therefore investing in growing our team.

In other appointment news, Meriden-based recruitment agency group Pertemps has made changes to its senior team as it marks 60 years of business.
Lifetime president Tim Watts, now in his 55th year with the company, is stepping back from the day-to-day leadership of the group but will remain a main board member and lifetime president.
Mr Watts’ mother Connie founded the company in 1961.
Steve West takes on the role of group chief executive while Carmen Watson becomes chairwoman of the group.
Mr Watts said: “After celebrating 60 years since the company was formed, and reflecting on some amazing memories and achievements, it is time to move forward into the next stage of the journey.
“Having worked with Carmen for over 40 years, and Steve for 30 years, I have no doubt that they will continue to drive the business forward.”
Law firm Freeths has expanded its restructuring team with the appointment of associate Grace Millar in its Birmingham office.
She joins the team after nearly ten years at Weightmans and specialises in corporate and personal insolvency and commercial litigation.
Lorien Engineering Solutions has strengthened its electrical engineering team with the appointment of Ian Cunningham as engineering manager.
He has 16 years of experience in electrical engineering and brings a wealth of industry knowledge to Lorien, particularly in the drinks, dairy and food sectors.
He joins the Burton-based company from Frederick Smith Electrical, an engineered electrical solutions company working across food, beverage and automation.
