Ten new jobs are up for grabs at Stoke-on-Trent pottery manufacturer Wade Ceramics.
The company – which has two factories in the city – has launched a recruitment drive after seeing an influx of new orders of its iconic ‘gluggle jug’ product.
It has also seen a rise in enquiries from overseas customers from countries including the USA, Australia and India.
The 200-strong company is now looking for bench casters, fettle spongers, hand dippers and lithographers. All of the positions are being offered on a full-time, permanent basis.
Paul Farmer, managing director of Wade Ceramics, said: “Wade has a long and proud history in Stoke-on-Trent, and we are wholly committed to ensuring the future success of the ceramic manufacturing industry in North Staffordshire.
“The pandemic has impacted many people’s employment opportunities, so we’re delighted to be in a position now where we are growing and can create jobs that will help local people, and in turn, have a positive effect on the local economy.”
He added: “The investment we’re making in these new roles will enable us to meet increased demand for our range of products, the gluggle jug especially, and maintain the extremely high levels of craftsmanship we’re known for around the world.”
