Staffordshire pub company Parogon Group will open its next venue in the autumn.
The company – which runs a number of successful restaurants across Staffordshire, Shropshire and Cheshire – has revealed that The Broughton, near Betley, will finally open in September after months of delays due to the pandemic.
It will be the ninth site in the pub group’s portfolio and follows the opening of its latest restaurant, Willow, at Trentham Gardens.
Philip Sharp, property director at Parogon Group, said: “Our plan when taking on the Broughton was to shift the focus from being a pub with a restaurant, which the previous Broughton was, to being a restaurant with a central bar and that is very much how we have approached this renovation.
“This has been the biggest project we have ever undertaken and to see it on the final stretch, knowing that the grand opening is just around the corner, makes me immensely proud of what has been achieved. I just can’t wait to see it full of people, the atmosphere is going to be unbelievable.”
More than 65 new jobs – around 35 full-time and 30 part-time positions – will be created with the opening of The Broughton.
Iain Crosby, Parogon Group’s head of operations, said: “This is great opportunity for anyone wanting to start a career in hospitality to join a company with great plans for the future. The Broughton is going to be the place to visit, so being part of a team that will be providing amazing experiences for our guests week in week out is extremely rewarding.
“Not only that, but the exciting menu will give chefs the opportunity to work with some great ingredients and create some truly amazing dishes.”
Other venues in the Parogon Group portfolio include The Orange Tree and The Swan with Two Necks in Newcastle-under-Lyme, the Seven Stars in Stafford and The Boars Head near Nantwich.
