A CELEBRITY endorsement for the work you are doing is always welcomed by any adult engaging in their everyday business but for a child, it means that little bit more.
It is lovely that Tiana is able to create a sense of normality and fun for local families
Tiana Williamson, 6-years-old, didn’t want to sit about at home during the lockdown period which has seen children up and down the country stuck indoors, so with the help of her parents and an opportunity at the Liberty Shopping centre in Romford, who wanted to bring the ‘local community’ in Essex together, she has created a series of activity videos that include storytelling, arts and crafts and baking lessons.
Clearly impressed by the endeavours of the young school girl, singer, television presenter and children’s author, Rochelle Humes, posted her support for Tiana on Instagram recently, hailing the young girl for her endeavours.
The author of The Mega Magic Hair Swap who was born in Barking, Essex, and has two young children of her own, wrote: “This is exactly why I started writing children’s books.”
Tiana, who has been delivering her videos on The Liberty Facebook page weekly for the last three months, said: “I wanted to do something to help children while we are stuck at home and not able to go to school.
“I love reading and I hope that my stories and arts and crafts put a smile on other children’s faces and gives them something to do at home.”
Centre Manager at The Liberty, Jonathan Poole, said: “It is lovely that Tiana is able to create a sense of normality and fun for local families using our online platforms.
“We hope Tiana’s videos help parents with ideas and keep their little ones occupied for a while during lockdown.”
Tiana’s videos can be found on The Liberty’s Facebook page (@LibertyRomford).
