An online value shoe brand is opening six new UK stores this month after it reported a “surge” in sales during lockdown.
Shoeaholics will open the pop-up shops across the country, with the first launch having already taken place.
It represents a £500,000 investment in the high street with demand for value, designer shoes and trainers at an “all-time high”.
The openings will be at Cheshire Oaks in Ellesmere Port, Birmingham NEC, Swindon, Dalton Park in Durham, Silverburn in Glasgow and on London’s Oxford Street.
Gareth Rees-John at Shoeholics said: “We saw a clear trend during lockdown of consumers spending money they saved from not going out on their obsession with shoes. We have the largest online collection of designer shoes covering 150 brands and individual consumer spend was in many cases three times the norm.
“The recent increase in consumer spend, we know is due to our value proposition for branded shoes which is unrivalled in the UK with discounts available between 30% – 40%. We want to build on this momentum and are doing this by opening six stores at a time when other retailers are leaving the high street.
“This is a confident move that reflects both the UK’s continued obsession with shoes and consumer’s focus on value in these uncertain economic times.
“There is a gap in the market for a one-stop shop for shoes from over 100 great brands, especially with the future of department stores at risk. We want to bring our expertise to the high street and provide a space where our customers can find their perfect shoe at the lowest price available.”

Shoeaholics sells over 150 shoe brands on its website and claims to be the UK’s most popular online destination for shoes with over 12m customers.
The Cheshire store opened on July 9, with the Birminham and Swindon openings to take place on July 15 and 20 respectively.
The Durham and Glasgow launches will happen at the end of the month, with the London date still to be confirmed.
