A family of retail entrepreneurs have expanded their portfolio by purchasing a poultry farm.
The Ghafar Family has acquired Moorefield Farm in Alvechurch near Redditch in an undisclosed deal.
The family has previously run convenience stores and Moorefield Farm is the first agricultural business for them.
The buyout, which has also created five new jobs, was supported by a funding package from Birmingham-based Central Business Finance.
Farm manager Larry Ghafar said: “Opening our first poultry farm here in Alvechurch is a dream come true.
“We have always wanted to swap sides from retailer to producer and thanks to the team at Central Finance we can now commence our new journey.
“Opening and managing a poultry farm is no easy task and that in itself has been challenging but rewarding.”
Chris Brown, director at Central Business Finance, added: “Seeing Moorefield Farm open and ready for business under the proud owners Mr and Mrs Ghafar and their two sons is a great accomplishment.
“Supporting entrepreneurs and small businesses achieve growth across the Midlands and seeing Moorefield Farm hatch from concept to completion is a privilege.”
