A recruitment agency has opened a new branch in Birmingham to spearhead its Midlands operations.
Gi Group’s new office, on Hastingwood Business Park in Castle Bromwich, will support its work in the West Midlands which includes placing staff in roles supporting the 2022 Commonwealth Games for which the firm is the official recruitment partner.
It is also focussing on hiring staff in the logistic sector to support the rise in online retail as well as carer roles.
The branch is being led by manager Andrew Page alongside a team of four new members of staff.

The group is headquartered in Derbyshire and has operations across the country but Birmingham is only its second in the West Midlands, joining a sister site in Coventry city centre.
Managing director of operations Paul Smith said: “Opening in Birmingham is an exciting and natural progression for Gi Group.
“Over recent years there has been significant investment in the region which has attracted new brands looking for talented employees and we have already been supporting an increasing number of businesses with their workforce needs.
“It is home to some of the country’s best universities too which act as a production line for talented youngsters who fall in love with the city and wish to stay.
“The Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games will also be hosted here and as the official recruiter for the games we wanted to demonstrate our commitment to creating a lasting legacy by having a permanent local presence.”
UK chief executive Paulo Canoa added: “I’m delighted that Gi Group now has a physical presence in this great, culturally diverse and economically important city.
“Birmingham has played a prominent role in the UK economy for many years. It is as vibrant as ever with a diverse range of businesses creating thousands of job opportunities.
“We are extremely proud to support these businesses with their recruitment needs while also supporting those looking for work or to take the next step in their careers.”
