Camping and leisure products specialists Miriad Products Ltd has made its first acquisition as part of its quest for growth.
The Uttoxeter-based business has acquired Quest Leisure Products Ltd, based in Redditch, for an undislosed, seven-figure sum in a “symbiotic” deal which brings the two firms together.
Miriad moved to a new 52,000 sq ft base on the Dovefields Industrial Estate earlier this year as part of its plans to grow the business by 25 per cent by 2024.
Since its move from Derbyshire, the company has recruited seven new staff across all areas of the business.
Miriad CEO, Penny Whitelock said: “It’s great to add Quest to our portfolio as we share many values, such as our customer-focus and partner-based approach to our retailers.
“The move will see new, national distribution opportunities for both companies, and much potential for future growth both in terms of sales, and importantly, for staff development too.
“We look forward to the continuation of providing excellent service to our entire retail network.”
Quest have been in business for over 30 years.
The company was started by Chris and Maggie Irving to supply and support the caravan, camping, garden centre, leisure and outdoor pursuits trade sectors.
As part of the deal, Quest’s name, premises and employees will all be retained.
Chris said: “We are delighted to hand over our business to Miriad. With our three co-directors, Adam, Louise and Kevin staying with the company, we know that the future is secure for our customers and staff alike.”
Director Adam Hughes added: “These are exciting times to be in the staycation market and we’re delighted that Miriad has acquired our business.
“We have very complimentary product ranges and feel sure that our and Miriad’s customers will find much of interest in our combined offering.
“It’s reassuring to know that the name, premises and staff, will be kept intact.”
