CLOSE: Meghan Markle and her mother, Doria Ragland
MEGHAN MARKLE’S mother, Doria Ragland is “preparing to move to the UK” to be closer to her daughter, it has been reported. The 61-year-old is said to be leaving her California home in which she grew up in as soon as next month.
A close source told reporters: “She is getting ready to move to London. I think she will be going as soon as possible. I know that she was eager to live closer to her daughter.”
Ms Ragland was the only member of the bride’s family to attend the royal wedding in May, where she was praised on social media for sitting alone at her daughter’s wedding, as a single mother.

The mother and daughter’s close relationship compensates for the ongoing feud between Meghan and her father, Thomas Markle. The retired lighting director pulled out of attending the wedding shortly after suffering a heart attack.
However, Mr Markle has since been at the centre of public scrutiny, after doing an interview following the Duke and Duchess of Sussex wedding.
