Megan Thee Stallion ‘grateful to be alive’ after shooting

MEGAN THEE Stallion has said she’s “grateful to be alive” after she was shot.

The rapper, whose real name is Megan Pete, shared the news on Instagram yesterday.

She wrote: “On Sunday morning, I suffered gunshot wounds, as a result of a crime that was committed against me and done with intention to physically harm me.”

The 25-year-old said she was sharing her side of the story to clear up misreporting around the incident.

She said: “I was never arrested, the police officers drove me to the hospital where I underwent surgery to remove the bullets.

“I’m incredibly grateful to be alive and that I’m expected to make a full recovery, but it was important for me to clarify the details about this traumatic night.”

She added that she was now focused on her recovery and working on returning to making music as soon as possible.

Megan did not reveal if she knew the person who shot her or who she was with when the incident occurred.

Los Angeles Times reported that the Los Angeles Police Department’s account of the incident made no mention of the rapper being shot.

Prior to her statement, a video shared by TMZ appears to show Megan bleeding from her foot as she backs up from a vehicle stopped by the police.

Tory Lanez, 27, who was in the car with Megan, appears to be face down on the ground with his arms outstretched.

Tory, whose real name is Daystar Peterson, was arrested on suspicion of carrying a concealed weapon.

The pair were stopped by police following reports of a shooting in the Hollywood Hills area in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Megan and Tory had attended a house party in the Hollywood Hills that day.
