A Leicestershire marketing agency has carried out a big contract for a vehicle technical college.

Creative62, which is based in Enderby, just outside Leicester, has been working closely with the MIRA Technology Institute (MTI) to redesign its website.

The college is based at the Motor Industry Research Association – a global vehicle testing facility on the A5 between Nuneaton and Hinckley.

Creative62 director Andy Rudkin said the college’s new look site combined stylish design with improved functionality and hoped it would help attract the brightest talent to study for a future in the global automotive industry.

The college was created to bridge the gap between business and academia and help the UK stamp its place at the centre of the global industry.

It opened in 2018 and is led by North Warwickshire and South Leicestershire College, in partnership with Horiba MIRA, Coventry University, the University of Leicester and Loughborough University.

It was built with £9.5 million of investment from the UK Government’s Growth Fund via the Leicester and Leicestershire Enterprise Partnership.

The vast motor research facility where it is based on the Leicestershire/Warwickshire border is a centre for manufacturers to develop everything from driverless cars to low emission engines and even super-efficient speaker systems.

The technology institute offers apprenticeships, degree and masters-level courses, as well as continuous professional development for people already working in the sector.

Mr Rudkin said: “MTI is a big, bold, fun and engaging place which needed inspiring design to bring it to life.

“We understand the pulling-power of a website for potential students and couldn’t wait to get started on the redesign.

“Having worked with NWSLC for some time, we understood the importance of offering an exciting “shop window” whilst making sure the website was fully functional.

“The website needed to drive enquiries, increase applications, and offer a slick back-office system to make the lives of staff managing the website easier.”

Lisa Bingley, MTI operations director said: “Working at the forefront of exciting developments in the automotive sector, our entire ethos is based on innovation.

“The MTI website really needed to reflect the world-class facilities and support that we offer to the industry which is heading in a new direction thanks to the imperative to address climate change and accelerate the rollout of electric and hybrid as well as connected and autonomous vehicles.

“The new website better reflects the opportunities for training and development that we can offer to auto sector businesses and their teams.

“As well creating a more appealing and easily accessible shop window for clients, the functionality of the new website makes it easier to update so that the content is always current and relevant.”

Creative62 was established in 2007 by founding partners Mark Robinson and Andy Rudkin and clients include Aspen Healthcare, Scalemaster and Sports & Leisure Management.
