From in depth interviews to up-to-the minute breaking news, our team of specialist business journalists bring together the stories that you need to see.

Like any good publication, what our readers think is really important to us. The traditional Letters to the Editor page is not so easily replicated in a digital age – but we do have a comments section and we would like you to sign up and get involved in the conversation.

Our new commenting system allows you to help us set the agenda, we want to provoke interesting debate and to raise the questions that you want to see answered.

We want as many of our readers as possible to go to the ‘head and shoulders icon’ in the top right hand corner of this page to register for our online community. Whether it’s simply a like, thankyou or a comment – let us know when our articles are highlighting the issues that matter most or when they don’t.

Log on and get involved – we look forward to hearing from you.

Here are some Q&As to address any thoughts or queries you may have.

How can I get involved?

Click on the little ‘head and shoulders’ icon in the top right-hand corner of any page on our website.

If you haven’t already, you can also receive a daily bulletin of business news to your email inbox or one of our weekly sector round-ups and breaking news alerts, by signing up to our newsletters here.

What stories can I comment on?

Almost all of our stories will have comments enabled.

If comments are not on a story, it’s usually for legal reasons or where we believe the subject matter would not lend itself to fair or balanced conversation, based on our experience. Those decisions are only taken after careful consideration by our team.

What type of comments are we looking for?

We want balanced and fair comments that are relevant to the story. We also encourage you to respond to other comments, as long as you do so respectfully.

In some instances, you will also be able to ask questions to our journalist team and have them reply to you – again, as long as you do so in a balanced and fair manner.

When we see a comment that we think makes a fantastic point, we’ll flag it as an editor’s pick which means everyone will see it first.

What type of comments break the rules?

We won’t allow any comments using bad language or versions of. Adding a couple of asterisks or spaces between letters doesn’t mean it’s fine.

Hate speech in any form breaks the rules too, which includes insulting other commentators. You can debate the point with them all day long though, but just stay within the rules

Our new system should pick up spam comments before they see the light of day, but any spamming or trolling is out.

Commenting names that include bad language are not allowed.

Additionally our reporters welcome constructive feedback on their work, but personal attacks or insults won’t be allowed.

What should I do if I see a comment I think is out of line?

You should flag it using the system tools, which will allow our moderators to review it. Don’t have a go back – let us deal with it.
