Developer Miller Homes West Midlands has been given the green light to build 65 new homes on land near Stafford.
The housebuilder has had its plans approved for the Keepers Field development, on Keepers Lane, in Codsall.
Miller Homes will develop a selection of two, three and four-bedroom homes, including 26 affordable homes and a handful of two-bedroom bungalows.
The company will also invest more than £200,000 into the village including a £131,000 donation to Birches First School to provide additional school places and a contribution of £65,000 for open space maintenance.
Construction will start on the new homes in the summer with the development’s new show home set to open by early 2022.
Martyn Grimes, operations director at Miller Homes West Midlands, said: “Codsall is a popular location for house buyers for a number of reasons – it might be a large village, but it still maintains its strong sense of community.
“We’re pleased that we’ve been able to further the thriving academic scene in the village, allowing for more children to take advantage of the excellent schools nearby.
“Providing more open space to enhance the wellbeing of the local neighbourhood was also really important to us, as this contributes to maintaining the character of Codsall.
“Along with its fantastic schools, the village is a sought after location for its artisan cafés, parks and green spaces, and excellent transport links to nearby Wolverhampton and the M54.”
