A growing furniture manufacturer which has doubled in size in the last 12 months has opened a brand new showroom in Stoke-on-Trent.
Since its launch in 2018, Fittingly has outgrown two sites – in Stoke and Cresswell – after seeing an increasing demand for its specialist, made-to-measure furniture.
In the last year alone, the company – which moved to a new base in Fenton in August 2020 – has doubled its headcount and now boasts a team of 30 staff, and a network of contractors across the country.
Now, as it approaches capacity at its King Street site, Fittingly has opened a brand new showroom and office space at the nearby Phoenix Works complex.
Alex Johnson – who started the business with Marty Day and Steve Mrozek – said: “Part of the reason for our new showroom was because we were looking for a larger premises in the city but we struggled to find something which was the right size.
“So we decided that the next best thing would be to open an additional site, which is just a short distance away from our factory, for our office staff and a new showroom which meant we could expand our existing manufacturing space.”
Steve added: “We are an online only business, but we often have people asking if they can see our products before buying them. In some cases we have even had customers travelling from as far as Scotland to come and see what was essentially just a factory.
“So the showroom will give customers a place to come and view our products, and make it worthwhile for them. We can even guide them through the design process and show them how our technology works.”

Fittingly is a technology-led furniture manufacturer which sells everything from fitted wardrobes and bedroom furniture to office furniture and media centres.
Using innovative software, customers can design their own furniture to bespoke specifications – and get a live price straight away.
Once the order has been completed, the furniture is then manufactured and delivered to the customer in flat-pack format ready for installation by themselves or a Fittingly installer.
Marty said: “In the last 12 months we have doubled in size and we believe that is down to two things.
“Firstly, covid has meant more people are having to work from home now so we’ve seen a rise in demand for office furniture and secondly, we have built up a very good reputation.
“We have also invested heavily in the business and in new, cutting-edge machinery which has allowed us to expand.”
Steve added: “We’ve created a ‘no pressure’ business model. We don’t employ sales staff, we employ designers because we believe our products speak for themselves.
“In two-and-a-half years we have become a multi-million pound business, and that is something we are really proud of.”
