Giveon keeps on giving with new visuals for ‘Favorite Mistake’

PRIMED FOR a major breakthrough, Long Beach-born R&B singer and songwriter Giveon shares the video for his acoustic version of ‘Favorite Mistake’.

Taken from his debut EP ‘Take Time‘, the project boasts a pair of critically acclaimed singles.

The lead-off “Like I want You” has already clocked 2.3 million Spotify streams. DJ Booth claimed: “More than just deep, however, Giveon’s voice is uniquely emotive. On songs like his recent breakout, ‘Like I want You,’ it positively cackles atop the stripped-back production.”
The follow-up “Heartbreak Annniversary” tallied 692K Spotify streams to date.

Cool Hunting said: “‘Heartbreak Annniversary’ fuses modern R&B with the baritone deliveries of legendary artists like Frank Sinatra and Bobby Caldwell.

“The simple instrumentals radiate while Giveon’s vocals dive deeper.”
Take Time illuminates the scope of his vision and the expanse of his talents. Opener “The Beach” pairs lush guitars with his bold intonation as it builds towards a sweeping refrain. Meanwhile, his dynamic range resounds on “This Aint Love,” while closer “Vanish” slips into a dream carried by echoes of acoustic guitar and vulnerable confessions before a final deep vocal catharsis.
Giveon continues to make headlines. Recently, he set the internet and the culture on fire singing the melodic hook on Drake’s surprise release “Chicago Freestyle.” Additionally, he opened on Snoh Aalegra’s recent tour!
Giveon infuses Rat Pack-style classiness into modern R&B. Developing his own baritone delivery, he caught the attention of another Long Beach local and multiplatinum singer and songwriter August 8 [DJ Khaled, Justin Bieber] who served as an initial mentor. In 2018, Giveon independently made his debut with “Garden Kisses” and “Fields,” clocking two million streams so far.

At the same time, he earned acclaim by everyone from Flaunt to HotNewHipHop.

A year later, he joined forces with producer Sevn Thomas [Drake, Rihanna, Travis Scott] and further honed a signature style of his own. In 2019, he also performed “Giveon Unplugged” to a packed crowd at Soho House in addition to leading a songwriting camp sponsored by Remy Martin and Asics alongside top producers and songwriters such as boi-1da, Jahaan Sweet, Sevn Thomas, WondaGurl, Charlie Handsome, and more.

Snoh Aalegra personally invited him on her headline tour. Now, he uncovers his debut EP for Epic Records, Take Time.
