The couple behind a hugely popular Stoke-on-Trent butchers are expanding their business with the launch of a new shop.
Craig and Natalie Taylor opened Taylor’s Butchers of Trentham in February last year just weeks before the first lockdown, selling everything from locally-sourced meat to vegetables and preserves.
And the shop has been such a success that the couple – who recently became parents to their son, Bobby – are preparing to open a second shop on the other side of Stoke-on-Trent.
They have transformed a former Coral bookmakers into Taylor’s Butchers of Milton, which will open for the first time tomorrow (May 25).
Craig told StokeonTrentLive: “When we first opened in Trentham, we didn’t know what to do and we didn’t know how things would go.
“But in just 15 months, we have learnt so much. We know what’s popular, what people want, and we really know how to operate now.
“We’re taking everything we’ve learnt from Trentham and putting it into this shop.”
Craig added: “I’m always so conscious that the past year has been really tough for a lot of people and a lot of businesses. People have lost their livelihoods, so we do feel really lucky that we are in the position to open another store.
“We’re so pleased with how the shop has turned out. When we first came to see it, I wasn’t sure. I couldn’t vision how it would look, but now the place has been transformed and it’s better than we could have ever imagined.”
Natalie said: “It was Craig’s idea to open the new shop. He’s always itching for a new venture. He definitely likes a challenge.”
