THE 2020 British Podcast Awards powered by Acast are taking place July 11 at 7:30pm.
This week it’s announced that the virtual show will be hosted by Clara Amfo, with the help of BBC 6Music’s Rhianna Dhillon alongside the biggest names in broadcasting and podcasting such as Claudia Winkleman, Louis Theroux, Ian Wright, Mel Giedroyc and My Dad Wrote A Porno, all of who are helping to hand out this year’s awards.
With lockdown drastically impacting live events, the British Podcast Awards have pushed ahead on their annual ceremony, taking it online, going bigger and better to make this the showbiz event of lockdown, and to celebrate the best British podcasts of the last year.
Nominees were announced on May 19, and included David Walliams, Kurupt FM, Chris Moyles on Radio X, Fearne Cotton’s Happy Place, Ways To Change The World, Sh**ged Married Annoyed, No Country For Young Women and George Ezra & Friends. The hosts, who will be presenting from a Central London studio, will be announcing live who’s won.
Nominees will join on a zoom call, waiting to find out if they’ve won. After the announcement’s made, a British Podcast Awards branded vehicle will immediately arrive at their house, waiting to present them with their award and to get their live reaction to winning.
Not to miss out on the red carpet, presenters and nominees of this year’s awards will be involved in a virtual red carpet, talking about their nomination, their podcast and being involved in this year’s awards. To be involved in the virtual red carpet, contact firstname.lastname@example.org

The Awards will also be broadcast by BBC Radio 4 Extra on July 14 at 8:30pm and then available on BBC Sounds.
