Soul Shack You will find Char Morby hanging out in the Soul Shack on every weekend on LWR. She started her radio life back in the late 80’s as one half of the ground braking male/female breakfast duo on Birmingham’s flag ship black radio station, PCRL. She plays her music from the soul and loves sharing her passion for this style with her listening audience.  Her unique style and personality has gained her a fan base in both the UK and USA.  She cites DJ Elayne as one of her big influences. Wayne C. McDonald is an actor slash DJ. Under a range of different monikers, he’s produced and remixed for the likes of Grammy-nominated Musiq Soulchild, Jessie J, Christina Milian, and Busta Rhymes. As a club and radio DJ, his tireless efforts to solidify the Black Music scene across the North of England have led him to become highly respected amongst his peers, maintaining close connections to artists, producers and tastemakers across the world.

Clive started his career as a live events DJ in the very hot summer of 1976 before becoming a London club DJ in 1980. It was 1985 when Clive began broadcasting his jazz funk and soul show on London’s legendary LWR Radio 92.5 FM before moving to London’s Joy Radio 97.8 FM in 1989.  

‘Self-Made’ is often a term used for persons who have reached the pinnacle of their careers through determination and self-elevation, Kennedy ‘Prezedent’ Mensah is no different. He brought himself up professionally to be recognised as one of the world’s foremost authorities on Reggae Music and the Music industry. His extensive music expertise has been utilised around the globe from Ghana, Nigeria, South Africa, Malawi, Gambia to America, Japan, Greece, France, Italy, Russia to the home of reggae music Jamaica and of course where he resides in Britain.

Daddy Ernie was born in London to Jamaican parents. His father was a renowned sound system operator in the Caribbean community, so music was very much a staple within his household. When he was a teenager he got together with his brother and some close friends to establish his own sound system: President Downbeat. Not only did this bring him kudos it provided an invaluable insight into what it really took to become a top operator and selector.
