CHANNEL 4 has announced plans to air an hour-long documentary about Prince in 2018.
Prince’s Last Year follows the star around on his Piano & a Microphone tour – the only solo tour he ever played.
The film will also cover his secret gig at the White House on June 15, 2015, when Prince and 3rdeyegirl performed with Stevie Wonder for President Barack Obama and his family.
Recently, Adam Weiner of Low Cut Connie told the Current about visiting the White House in May 2016, shortly after Prince’s died, and seeing photographs from that day on the wall – including one of Obama dancing on the stage.
Produced and directed by Adrian Sibley, Prince’s Last Year features interviews with CeeLo Green, George Clinton, Rev. Al Sharpton, Van Jones, singers Eryn Allen Kane and Andy Allo.
The documentary will cover various topics, from music and political activism to the addiction to prescriptions painkillers that led to his death at the age of 57.
